Ms Sylvia Lim asked the Minister for Health what are the current occupancy rates of public and private hospitals and their capacity to admit new inpatients.
Mr Ong Ye Kung: There were 9,728 beds in the public hospitals as of end February 2022 with overall average monthly bed occupancy rate of 88.5%.
There were 1,929 beds in the private hospitals as of end February 2022 with overall average monthly bed occupancy rate of 47.0%.
