Ms Sylvia Lim asked the Minister for Sustainability and the Environment in view of the continuing re-calibration and relaxation of the COVID-19 control measures, whether the Government will enable families holding funeral wakes to serve catered food and drinks to visitors.
Ms Grace Fu Hai Yien: Funeral events are not subjected to Vaccination-Differentiated Safe Management Measures to allow families and loved ones to pay their last respects, regardless of their vaccination status. To mitigate the risks of transmission of COVID-19 to unvaccinated attendees, the serving and consumption of food and beverages remain prohibited at funeral events. We will continue to monitor the situation and review this position moving forward.
