
Ms He Ting Ru asked the Minister for Health (a) how many cases of COVID-19 reinfections have been detected in Singapore since November 2021; (b) whether there are any significant differences in healthcare outcomes for re-infected patients in Singapore; (c) what proportion of COVID-19 patients admitted to ICU are re-infected patients; and (d) what is the demographic breakdown of COVID-19 reinfection cases.
Mr Ong Ye Kung: From 1 November 2021 to 25 March 2022, 8,845 cases of reinfection were detected in Singapore. The vast majority of reinfection cases are mild, with one case requiring ICU admission and two deaths reported. The majority of reinfection cases are below 60 years of age.
