
Mr Leon Perera asked the Minister for Health for each year in the past five years (a) what is the median waiting time for the booking of a new appointment at specialist outpatient clinics in public healthcare institutions for (i) all patients (ii) private-paying patients and (iii) subsidised patients; (b) what percentage of patients have transferred to private healthcare; and (c) what is the number of non-urgent procedures that have been postponed.

Based on available data, majority of the Public Hospitals and National Specialist Centres reported around three to five per cent postponement of non-urgent procedures in 2021. The statistics of patients who have chosen to seek care at private healthcare institutions instead are not tracked by Public Hospitals and National Specialist Centres.
