
Mr Pritam Singh asked the Minister for Trade and Industry (a) as of June 2022, how many licensed electrical workers are (i) Singaporeans (ii) permanent residents and (iii) foreigners respectively; (b) of those with such a licence who are non-Singaporeans, what are (i) the top 10 nationalities and (ii) the type of work pass that they hold respectively; and (c) what are the age profiles of all workers with such a licence.
Mr Gan Kim Yong: As of end-June 2022, there were close to 4,000 licensed electrical workers (LEW), of which less than 1% were foreigners from various nationalities on either S Passes or Employment Passes. The majority of the LEW were between 41 and 80 years of age.
