Mr Chua Kheng Wee Louis asked the Minister for National Development in the past 10 years, what is the annual number of completed but vacant HDB units, broken down by flat type and their respective vacancy rates and within one year of obtaining Temporary Occupation Permits for the flats.
Mr Desmond Lee: There are a total of 1,037,013 completed HDB flats, as at 31 July 2022. Of these, 1,465 flats, or 0.1%, were vacant units that had not been booked. Most of these units were either being offered under Sale of Balance Flats exercises where flat selection had not been completed, or were scheduled for subsequent exercises.
