Ms He Ting Ru asked the Minister for Manpower in view that Dependant’s Pass (DP) holders have been required to secure applicable work passes in order to work in Singapore since 1 May 2021, what is the breakdown by the number of DP holders who (i) have gained employment and (ii) are unemployed.
Dr Tan See Leng: In May 2021, Dependant’s Pass (DP) holders who were working on a Letter of Consent (LOC) constituted about 1% of all work pass holders.
As at September 2023, DP holders who have obtained a work pass continue to constitute around 1% of all work pass holders in Singapore.
