Ms He Ting Ru asked the Minister for Health in each of the last five years, how many cases of shingles have been recorded for those aged (i) under 50 years old (ii) between 51 to 75 years old and (iii) over 75 years old.
Ms He Ting Ru asked the Minister for Health (a) whether the Ministry tracks the administration of vaccines available for shingles; and (b) if so, how many doses have been administered to patients in each of the last three years.
Mr Ong Ye Kung: Shingles is not a notifiable disease and the Ministry of Health (MOH) does not track shingles cases. MOH also does not actively monitor the uptake of shingles vaccination, as the vaccine is currently not on the National Adult Immunisation Schedule’s list of recommended vaccines.
